Carlos L. Farias, Jr., M.D.

Dr. Farias is a well-respected Plastic Surgeon with an M.D. from the University of Texas Health Sciences Center in San Antonio, TX.

Dr. Farias completed an internship in General Surgery and his residency in Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery at University of Missouri in Columbia, MO. In addition, he completed a Microsurgical fellowship in Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, also at University of Missouri.

Dr. Farias has contributed to the Plastic Surgery specialty through various leadership roles and many of his educational publications throughout the years.

Dr. Farias medical philosophy is Patients First! Always First!

Dr. Farias enjoys riding sport motorcycles on the track, and successfully completed a racing course at Indianapolis Motor Speedway by former MotoGP world champion Kevin Schwantz. He is also a supporter of Operation Smile.”

A fun fact about Dr. Farias is when he was in 9th grade, he was selected starting quarterback for his school’s “B team”. In his mind, he thought he was a better player than the quarterback chosen to start for the “A team”. A few years later that “A team” quarterback was awarded the Heisman Trophy as the nation’s best collegiate football player.

Dr. Farias immediately changed his mind that the coaches knew what they were doing all the way back in 9th grade!
