Mary Grace Heyrosa, M.D., F.A.C.S
Dr. Heyrosa is Board Certified by the American Board of Surgery. She earned her medical degree from the University of Colorado Health Sciences Center in Aurora, CO. Prior to medical school, she attended the University of Colorado at Colorado Springs earning a Bachelor of Arts and a Master of Science degree.
Dr. Heyrosa completed her General Surgery Internship and Residency at Lehigh Valley Hospital in Allentown, PA, and then a categorical residency in General Surgery at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Denver, CO.
Dr. Heyrosa continuing with a fellowship in Colon and Rectal Surgery at Lehigh Valley Hospital before completing a fellowship in Cosmetic Surgery at Hamilton Surgical Arts in Noblesville, IN. All the while, Dr. Heyrosa managed to also complete her Master of Business Administration in Health Administration with certification in International Healthcare at the University of Colorado Denver.
Dr. Heyrosa believes that listening and engaging with her patients is an essential part of the healing equation. By hearing what her patients are asking for and understanding their life circumstances, reasonable expectations can be set and a respectful partnership can be created. Dr. Heyrosa also believes that physicians do not heal people but actually help people heal themselves. That is why a partnership is important. Her role is in part, teacher. She teaches her patients the skills and gives them the tools to meet their health goals. Through education and knowledge, patients feel powerful in their choices and understand why things work.
Outside of work, Dr. Heyrosa loves world travel and the experience of new cultures, language, foods and ways of life. At home she loves being outdoors in the sunshine be it hiking, trail running, snowboarding, road biking, rock climbing or paddle boarding. She also enjoys spending time with her best buds Apollo and Thor, both one and a half-year-old yellow labs, whose superpowers are finding puddles to run in to.
