Is Sono Bello Safe?

The safety of liposuction, skin removal, and body contouring procedures have come a long, long way over the last few decades—and at Sono Bello, protecting patient safety has always been a top priority.

While all surgical procedures carry some risk, Sono Bello has specifically adapted their process and procedures to prioritize patient safety and minimize risk for all patients, all procedures, and at all locations across the country.

How safe are Sono Bello procedures?

Sono Bello procedures have been specifically designed to maximize patient safety and minimize the risk of complications.

For years, Sono Bello has been providing safe and high-quality care across the nation, and across multiple procedure types. Sono Bello has even earned accreditation from the Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Health Care (AAAHC), an independent, not-for-profit organization, that has closely examined Sono Bello’s facilities, systems, policies, and procedures to verify the organization’s high level of care and safety.

Behind that reputation for safety stands three core pillars of Sono Bello’s quality: patient consultation, skilled surgeons, and modern techniques and technology.

Starting with Expert Consultation

This all starts with the critical step of patient qualification. Every Sono Bello patient starts their journey through a consultation with a Sono Bello patient care consultant, who will help the patient determine which procedure is best for achieving their body goals. Patients then meet with their surgeon directly, who can answer any questions and help provide even more information and finalize their customize surgery plan for the procedure.

Not every patient is the right fit for every procedure: the patient’s body-mass index (BMI), prior health history, and other factors may all impact which Sono Bello procedure will work best for them, or if they are a candidate at all. This consultation is a crucial step toward protecting Sono Bello patient safety.

Skilled Surgeons with Years of Experience

Another important factor helping to make procedures at Sono Bello safe for patients is the combined knowledge, training, and experience of Sono Bello’s plastic & cosmetic surgeons.

More than 185 board-certified surgeons located across Sono Bello’s locations provide not only the high level of expertise required for safe and successful procedures, but also a dedication to care and patient safety. Combining this experience with a personal touch, Sono Bello surgeons are recognized as some of the premier liposuction surgeons across the nation.

Trusted Techniques & Technology for Liposuction & Body Contouring

Sono Bello works to maximize patient safety because each procedure uses time- and safety-tested techniques and technology. This helps ensure maximum patient satisfaction while minimizing overall patient risk.

Another important factor in keeping Sono Bello patients safe is the use of localized anesthesia instead of general anesthesia, which can lead to complications and longer recovery for some patients. By using localized anesthesia instead, Sono Bello patients can remain awake and alert during their procedure.

One such technique is the use of tumescent fluid during the liposuction procedure. Tumescent fluid is a solution of IV fluid combined with lidocaine (for anesthesia to the treated areas of the body) and Epinephrine (a vasoconstrictor to minimize bleeding). The use of tumescent fluid also helps to optimize the amount of fat a Sono Bello surgeon can remove in a 24-hour period, helping protect each patient’s fluid dynamics and keeping them on track for quick and effective healing.

Finally, the technology used by Sono Bello surgeons is itself a major factor in helping protect Sono Bello patient safety. Sono Bello surgeons use a variety of technology and methods depending on the particular procedure—including advanced laser-assisted and power-assisted lipoplasty. When used in combination, these methods can provide a very controlled suction of fat while minimizing scarring and bruising for the patient after the procedure is complete.

How successful are Sono Bello procedures?

Sono Bello body transformation procedures work and have been highly successful helping a variety of patients achieve their ideal body shape over the years.

That is why so many Sono Bello patients see a dramatic change in their appearance followed by a continued boost to their self-confidence.

To date, Sono Bello has helped transform the bodies and lives of more than 300,000 patients. The results speak for themselves, and the 23,000 5-star Google reviews only add to the confidence that patients bring into each procedure with Sono Bello.

Will I be awake or under general anesthesia during my Sono Bello procedure?

Sono Bello patients remain awake during their procedure since no general anesthesia is used in any Sono Bello procedure. Instead, localized anesthesia is used to numb the pain in that area.

As a result, patients remain awake and alert to maintain communication with the surgeon, and to make it easy for the surgeon to reposition the patient to treat each area of the body more accurately.

How long will my Sono Bello procedure be?

All Sono Bello procedures are one-day procedures, and every patient is out the door for recovery within just a few hours.

Generally, the actual time required for each procedure is determined on a case-by-case basis and may extend or decrease depending on the extent of the procedure and the amount of fat to be removed.

The average liposuction procedure is around 2.5-3 hours, and the excision of skin (AbEX) is around 3-3.5 hours. Patients arrive approximately 1.5 hours before surgery to prepare prior to their procedure and will stay after surgery at least 15 minutes for recovery.

In some cases, patients may need to return for additional procedures. Because some states have laws regarding how much fat can be removed per visit, it may be necessary to treat additional areas of the body in subsequent visits. A consultation with your surgeon can help you best determine if and how your procedures should be spaced out.

Do I have to fill a narcotic prescription after a Sono Bello procedure?

For the most part, narcotic prescriptions are necessary for Sono Bello patients after their procedure. These prescriptions will help control the pain in the early post-operative period, which can provide relief from any pain experienced by patients in the days after their surgery.

On average, Sono Bello patients remain on their prescriptions for around 3 days after their procedure.

Can I drive myself home after a Sono Bello procedure?

Sono Bello patients may not drive themselves home after their procedure. Every Sono Bello patient is required to have a responsible adult, at least 18 years of age, to sign them out after their procedure. Ride sharing services like Uber or Lyft will not qualify as a ride for Sono Bello patients.

It is also highly recommended that this adult remains with the patient for at least 24 hours after the procedure to provide post-operative care, including giving additional medication as needed to keep patients comfortable and relaxed.

Can I bring my significant other to my Sono Bello procedure?

While it is a good idea for patients to bring a trusted friend, family member, or significant other with them on the day of their Sono Bello procedure, no guests are allowed in the surgical areas themselves.

However, following local public health regulations and mask mandates, Sono Bello can accommodate one companion to join patients in the family room. Sono Bello’s care team members can also help patients coordinate before procedures to ensure they have everything needed to proceed with the procedure with confidence.
