Weight issues and problem areas can sneak up on even the most active and healthy of us. Whether it’s age, stress, or a big life change, there are so many obstacles that can get in the way. For our featured patient, a big change in her family life lead to a weight gain that diet and exercise alone just couldn’t eliminate.

B’Ann was an athlete growing up. Through her early 20s she never thought twice about her weight and had a toned, strong body she felt comfortable in. That all changed when she had her son 13 years ago.

After giving birth, B’Ann was able to quickly lose the weight. But within a few months, it began to creep back. Eventually she was up to 160 pounds and felt like a stranger in her own body. No matter how much she worked out, she just wasn’t able to get rid of her problem areas. She took up running and was able to drop some pounds but was still left with a ring of fat around her belly.

After enduring a 10-year struggle, B’Ann knew she needed to make a change.
