“Commenting on behalf of a friend who went here a few years ago. I feel terrible because I had seen the videos and encouraged her to go when she was interested, not realizing that every sonobello location is different.

She has shared over the years, but recently shared her experience more in depth. At the Edina clinic, she had lipo on her legs and abdomen for about 10k. She shared that no one explained the recovery process, and after going home from her procedure she was never contacted again. She had no change in her appearance and has dips in her skin where the the lipo tubes were. She also only wore the faja for the time they recommended, did not have massages, and ended up with fibrosis in her legs and abdomen.

Overall, she is very disappointed in the results and felt like the took her money and didn't care about the results.”

“Felt very rushed, after asking for a quote the representative called from Texas, I live in Iowa.

We set up consultation but before that consultation I had to schedule surgery for the next day.

At the consult the women was great answered all questions believe have was Colleen or Katie Young blonde.

Then doctor came in and again felt very rushed to get through paper work, sign here and there and here thing. I slowed him down and then dr. Volk answered all my questions.

Con- they did not send prescriptions until day before surgery so had to wait to pick up prescription then driver 2.5 hours for surgery almost late.

Came in for surgery and Derek was awesome nurse answered questions, joked with you, and made you feel really comfortable, he was always ready to do whatever he could to help you.

Doctor volk during surgery seemed very skilled. I'm writing this as I just got done so perhaps another review after I help in few weeks.

After 3 month check I was happy and pleased with results but like most people I still look at myself with improvement needed. If I were to do it again I would, Justine another nurse went over the 3 month check photos and definitely tell the difference. Very helpful and friend. I was late for this appointment due to my fault yet she managed to squeeze me in that day so that should balance the con before I think.”

“Okay, so the free consultation was fine, kinda excited after. When I went to my pre-op, I was terrified about the procedure. I wanted to back out, but I would have been charged over $2K if I canceled. If they would have explained the procedure more at the consultation and if they would have brought me to the area where they do the Pre-op, I would not have gone through with it. For the Pre-op and procedure, you go through a door past the consultation offices. And my first thought was "am I in some shady clinic in Mexico." Then to be told I'll be awake during the procedure, but we'll give you some oral medication to relax. Day of procedure, arrived at 1135am and wasn't done until 6pm...had upper and lower abdomen and hips done. I won't get into the details of the actual procedure. Except for, YES I WAS AWAKE while they removed the fat. Pain free my ass, the swelling is ridiculous, my entire abdomen and back feel like a have an incredibly tight belt wrapped around me, I weigh more than before the procedure, it's been a little over a week, and still swelling hasn't gone down. If you are considering this, make sure to ask a ton of questions and get the exact details before signing up. Even in 6mos. If have great results, I still won't think any of this is worth it. Like my Co-worker said, "I basically paid some one $10K to torture me." I wish I would have done coolsculpting or weight-loss injections instead. There is so much more I could say about this experience, but I think I've made my point. One more thing, I assume Sono Bello pays for their Ambassadors procedures, because why else would they lie so easily to the world. Pain free and no downtime, biggest bullshit ever. And what pathetic people to lie for free procedures if that's the case.”

“There was some confusion on which areas that I was going to have done. At the pre-op, I addressed it once it was described as what areas would be taken care of. When I was at my initial consult, I pointed out the top area of concern and when it came to the more-op, that one area of concern was not part of the plan. The surgeon indicated she could swap out the areas and was able to add my top area of concern to the surgery plan. To be honest, the only reason I sought care was for one specific area. With the confusion indicated above, it did cause me pause and some distrust as I believe that I was very clear in what I was asking for. Now, post-surgery, I am only 2 days out and realize some swelling and will see what the results are and will address at my first post-op appointment.
I was very excited and the staff were all very nice, so I definitely have no complaints about the staff. My only concern is the outcome of the one area that was my top - must have done area! Thanks”

“Experience was awesome. They made it fun and relaxing for the surgery. They ask your fave music that they get playing and was able to chat the whole time and definitely helped my nerves. I’m already seeing the results within 24 hours. Definite soreness and epic bruising but do follow instruction.
Update-3weeks post-op and prepping for my legs/thunder thighs😎. Abs are FLAT. Jeans are falling off me, lost 10 pounds(not kidding) but I’ll add that I started Lumen 3weeks prior to surgery. It is still tight feeling so I’m not going to do any crazy ab workouts or yoga but walking. BEST investment I’ve ever done for myself.

Ok- round 2-legs. Nearing 1 week post op and same great experience. Still walking around like a baby deer but it gets better everyday and I’m at max swelling right now. Definitely saw results right away before swelling set in but even at full swell - (seriously have no knees right now) my jeans I haven’t tried to wear in a year comfortably fit loosely today. Work would’ve been tough at 3 days even a desk job if you don’t want people knowing. I think legs hurt more due to having to walk, but it’s easier less painful in general getting up and down than abs. Don’t go into this thinking there will be no pain. Pain is managed effectively during and after the procedure but it is still a surgical procedure you need to heal from. But everyone is great- nurses to front desk and everywhere in between. I really appreciate the follow up call from Dr. V and the 5 day follow up from the nurse. Again feeling ZERO regrets.”

“Everyone was very kind and attentive each time I came to the Edina clinic. My original consultation with Rachel was wonderful. She was fun to work with and really listened to the type of results I wanted. She was very knowledgable about the different procedures available and explained exactly what I could expect. She even asked me what kind of music I wanted to listen to during the procedure. Dr. Kim was my surgeon. Starting from the pre-op consult Dr. Kim was kind, knowledgable and attentive. He explained all of the pre-op and post-op instructions clearly and made sure that all of my questions were answered. He verified that we had scheduled all of the correct procedures in order to address all of my areas of concern so that I would be happy with the final results. Dr. Kim made sure that I was comfortable and pain-free throughout the procedure. He kept me informed of what he was doing during each step of the procedure and checked in with me frequently to make sure that I remained comfortable. Dr. Kim even called me at home the next morning to check on how I was doing. Overall it has been a very positive experience, and I can’t wait to see the final results once everything is healed. I highly recommend this clinic if this is something you are considering.”

“I was absolutely terrified when they told me I would be awake for the surgery. Though you are sedated so you're awake occasionally and asleep most of the time. However jasmine was the most amazing nurse. And helped me with my nerves and made me feel comfortable. And there was nothing to be scared of at all. If I felt any type of pinch they would numb me up some more. The recovery is pretty sore.”

I had my consult which originally did not have me convinced. But I continued to read and research. I spoke specificaly and directly to woman that also had Dr Volk and called him and artist. I must agree! I made a few friends that I continue to keep in touch with since. You’ll find a family in sono bello patients since we are the only ones that have gone thru it we help encourage when feeling discouraged! This isn’t an in and out proceedure. There are things u can do to make it go better. I was where I needed to be in my weight loss journey for the best outcome There are a couple things like my scar being even I wish were a tiny different but literally nothing that wouldn’t have me doing it all again if I had to. I love my body for the first time in my life! In my research I feel like all offices are not the same across the board. The Edina location 💯 has my referral tho. Everyone there has been great to me with every visit. Also Dr. volk is board certified and that helped me in my decision.”

Theresa, the OR nurse, is perfect for the job. Her bedside manner makes you feel comfortable as she prepares you for surgery. Dr Kim injects humor as he thoroughly explains the procedure and makes sure all questions are answered.

Derick, who works with you directly after surgery, treats you very respectfully preparing you to leave after surgery. At this point, you are grateful for someone like Derick because you can’t do much for yourself.

It was great to have two follow up calls, Dr Kim and Courtney. After speaking with Courtney, she sent me a text going over what we discussed.

And while I am swollen & feel pain/soreness, I am extremely happy with how I look & feel in my first day post-op! 2.5lbs doesn’t sound like a lot, but it has made a BIG difference! While I have a lot of healing to do, I already feel more confident & happy in my skin - which was my goal. Words cannot describe the ELATION I felt realizing I not only could wear a bikini but I didn’t need to buy a sarong to cover up a gross overhanging pouch of skin because it’s gone and my stomach is flat. During the initial consultation with a sales representative, I was required to pay the full $5000 upfront to secure a pre-operative appointment with Dr. Volk. This raised some concerns for me, but the staff assured me of positive results and I was hopeful that I would be able to feel confident about my chin. The pre-op encounter with Dr. Volk was very brief, and I felt pressured to proceed without adequate information because I was told I would not be able to get my money back since I’d been cleared for surgery.

Throughout the procedure, the staff spent the entire time talking about one of their colleagues who was having surgery after me because of a cancellation. They neglected to communicate the progress of the surgery, leaving me unsettled.

Post-operatively, the verbal and written instructions provided were inconsistent, with the written instructions all being for liposuction on other body parts which caused confusion.

At subsequent follow-up appointments, my dissatisfaction with the results was dismissed until my six-month appointment, where they said I could meet with Dr. Volk again. It took a lot of persistence to actually get that appointment scheduled. When it finally happened, he was running an hour and a half late and spent 10 seconds examining me to tell me it had been mostly skin, not fat under my chin so I couldn’t have expected any better results. I’m very frustrated that I was initially told I was a good candidate and would be so happy with my results, when clearly that was not the case.

Despite promises of additional Venus treatments to try to address my concerns, communication has been lacking, and attempts to schedule these treatments have been futile. Nearly a year later, having spent $5000, I see no discernible difference. I strongly discourage considering this establishment, as they appear indifferent to customer satisfaction once payment is received.”

“I had my procedure done at the end of April 2023, I had liposuction and an incision from hip to hip to cut off skin, I still needed two other liposuctions in the waist area and bra line area. For a whole month I was bleeding like crazy, had to keep going in to get drained, bleeding also through my belly button, after that I Went to the U/Minn ER. They referred me to a different doctor who I saw within two days and was in the hospital for a hematoma, he had to reopen the whole incision, get rid of that and then back to drains in me for three weeks, I felt great after that. I called Sono Bello to tell them, what happened to me, even my new doctor said I was butchered. I told them Dr. Schneider will never touch me again and I wanted my money back for the procedures I haven’t had done yet. They told me NO refund, I complained a couple of times, and someone higher up called me and said I would get my refund. I have four years to decide about suing them, I think I should of gotten a full refund for what I went through. Sono Bello wants your business and they talk a good game when they want your business, actually they’re very deceiving. Think twice about this place. On 2/2/2022 I pre-paid for a surgery scheduled in for May 5, 2022. I had an unforeseeable family emergency in Arizona and called to cancel my appt in April. Today is now June 16th 2023 and still NO REFUND CHECK!

“I feel like once you sign the dotted line and pay them, the customer service takes a serious nose dive. I also felt they sincerely misled me about the procedure. The consultant talked about how she had a family event a few days after the procedure and how she was totally fine. They also told me I wouldn’t have an issue wearing my jeans after the procedure. While I wasn’t in a lot of pain for too long, they don’t tell you how extremely uncomfortable you will be once the swelling begins and it lasts for a couple of weeks. It’s nearly impossible to find a comfortable position to sleep in due to the extreme amount of swelling. They don’t tell you about that and there is no way my jeans would have fit me that first week. The doctor did call me the night of my procedure which I thought was nice but that’s about it. Also, I had my driver all lined up and I believe it was the day before, they told me my procedure time had to be moved up so had to scramble to find someone. There is no follow up to see how you’re doing post procedure. I stumbled upon a lymphatic massage therapist who told me about the lypo foam and massage gun I should have been using this whole time. It’s alarming that Sono Bello didn’t care enough to tell me about these things that could have helped my healing and I’m 90 days post procedure. Makes me feel like they really don’t care. Last but not least, I showed up for my 90 day apt early. There were about 6 people filling out paperwork (potential clients) who showed up after me and they all were called before my apt time. I didn’t even get called back for my apt until 30 minutes after my scheduled apt time and was asking to reschedule due to the delay. While I’m satisfied with the results, I would not recommend due to the lack of support, honesty, follow up & care.”

“One morning I woke up and looked in the mirror and didn’t recognize the person looking back at me. I had gained weight over time and no diet was working it’s magic with pills or crazy diets. “The customer service was amazing and Dr Volk called me the evening of my procedure which I thought was great. They did a fairly good job of preparing you for what to expect after the procedure. The only reason I didn’t give 5 stars was because the consultant I spoke with kinda set me up to have unrealistic expectations so I severely underestimated how uncomfortable I would be in regards to the swelling. It is extremely uncomfortable to sit and lay down for several days.

I stopped the pain meds after 2 days, mostly because the pain was as not significant, I was just extremely uncomfortable due to the swelling and probably didn’t get good sleep for about a week. I’m at 10 days post procedure and am feeling so much better. The swelling has significantly decreased and I can finally wear my jeans again. I’m excited for all the swelling to subside.”

Dr. Strand never discussed with me the option of an abdominoplasty, which he is now saying is what I needed to have done in the first place. He destroyed the appearance of my abdomen and when I tried to discuss this with him, he was condescending and insensitive, saying to me, "how many liposuction procedures have you done?" When I replied that I only had one, he repeated his question and clarified that he meant how many have I performed. Not only that, each time I saw him he made a point to make comments about my "big bazongas" and made me feel like he was judging the size of my breasts in a very inappropriate and unprofessional manner. I tried to talk with him and ask him if he could at least help fix the appearance of my stomach, which you can see by the photos, is completely botched. He was rude and left the exam room before I was even done asking questions. The unprofessionalism and the multiple comments about my breasts, when I was not addressing my breasts nor did I have any procedure on them was surreal. At my first appointment with him, he went on and on about how large my "bazongas" are and how I am not wearing the right bra size and that I should see a good friend of his who sells bras for a living. The follow up appointment which was today, he made a point to demean me and comment on my "big bazongas" again. Not only did he make disparaging and harassing comments about my breasts, he dismissed my feelings and overall unhappiness with the procedures and he left the room in the middle of my asking questions. I asked why he did not discuss with me that the better option for me was an abdominoplasty and he said, "did you read the consent?" I stated that nowhere in the consent did it discuss better options and as a physician, it is his duty to do that with me prior to the procedure. I also asked him why he did not explain to me that my abdomen could actually look worse afterwards and he said that he could not predict that but when I asked why he didn't even discuss the possibility, he simply stared at me and made a comment about how I was not listening to him. He demeaned me, he botched me, and he does not care that I am so unhappy. He refused to attempt to fix what he destroyed and I am horrified that this is the way a surgeon would behave this way and also not take responsibility for his mistakes in this matter. Furthermore, his comments about my breasts could be viewed as sexual harassment and I will be letting everyone I know about this experience. What a horrible way to treat a patient.

The staff at Sono Bello are very kind and attentive to the patients. They want to make sure they have all of the info.

During the surgery I remember some discomfort but I was basically asleep. I don’t remember getting home or getting into bed but I remember waking up.

Recovery is hard. Follow their directions before and after procedure. Wear the bodysuit they give you post surgery, take the arnica and take the pain pills. Rest. Drink lots of water.

“I was unsure if I wanted to move forward with the AB X. Meeting Rachel and being able to ask questions about procedure in person and many phone calls later. I decided to move forward, Dr Strand is a character. He explained and showed me what he planned to do. Dr Strand was very very knowledgeable and made the stress of going forward easy. They day of my procedure the nurse Joy took me back and explained what was going to happen. She was very calming and friendly. It was like a friend being a support and truly listening to my fears. Joy was with me the whole time from walking in the door and out. GREAT GRRAT EXPERIENCE!!! I am going back they made it so easy and relaxing. Made calls to me to see how I was doing. I called them back with questions always friendly and willing to help.”

“Very bad experience and wasted 6500.00. Half way through the procedure I woke up and the Dr kept going. It's been a few yrs but still don't look the way they claim you would.
Others ask me about them and I tell them don't waste your money and their $250.00 off that is a joke. They don't care as long as they get their money.”

“They went above and beyond to get me in for surgery but towards my 6 months post op visit, I was unhappy with my results. Sure Dr.Volk was able to take the max amount of fat off , but the post op care wasn't as great. I was told to do massages but not told how often, and how would I know if I was doing it correctly ?
I wasn't even asked about my concerns but only to be told I gained 10lbs and suggested I look into their newest program they offered called Venus legacy. I have uneven parts of my stomach, it is not flat and the post op care was not that great . I'm unhappy and should have went elsewhere or done more research.”

“I had a Tri-sculpt Ex done in June of 2021. It was terribly painful. Which, I was willing to go through to get good results. Way more painful then explained by staff. Procedure is by far way more painful then ever expected or told..
And of course you can't stop in the middle.The nurse told me I did not need to come back for my 6 month appointment because things looked good. My stomach has been lop- sided ever since. So, I decided to make an appointment to see the surgeon who did my surgery. He noticed right away and said he would do a revision. The staff told me I had to wait until they got my chart. Funny thing was, they had it for my appointment. They told me to call back in June and that they were booked until August. I called the lady who takes care of this and nobody called me back yet. I mentioned that I thought that they should be willing to fix this sooner rather than later. Also, nobody sent home proper dressings to change over incision from hip to hip and my skin started to become necrotic, so I'm also left with an ungodly dark scar from this procedure. If you are planning to do this, make sure you are well informed and do your homework. The nurse i had was also rude to me and said, "It looks great, there's more fat for them to take. BS!!. Still awaiting a response for the revision.”
