All of Sono Bello’s surgeons are board-certified or board-eligible surgeons. Every one of our surgeons has been extensively trained in surgery, as well as receiving Sono Bello-specific training on the small number of specialized procedures we perform at Sono Bello, to become proficient in the aesthetic procedures we offer.
Our overall infection rate is less than 0.4% (that’s less than one half of a percentage point), and our overall complication rate is less than 2.5%. We are leaders in the industry in maintaining low infection and complication rates.
Our procedures are performed using local anesthesia. Local anesthesia has fewer risks than general anesthesia. This means you’re awake during your procedure, but relaxed and comfortable. You’ll be able to talk to your surgeon and medical team during your procedure.

Discomfort levels vary from patient to patient. During the procedure, patients are awake and may feel mild discomfort when the local anesthesia is injected. Some burning sensations can occur during the fat suctioning phase. After the procedure, most patients experience aches similar to those after a vigorous workout, which can be managed with over-the-counter pain relievers. Many patients feel comfortable returning to work within 1-3 days, depending on the treated areas and amount of fat removed. Wearing compression garments and allowing natural healing help the skin reattach to the muscle.
Every doctor works with their patients to determine the best prescription for pain control to support a safe recovery. We encourage patients to try over-the-counter pain medications like Ibuprofen and Tylenol first, before using narcotic drugs.
