Jason Arru was born in Louisville, KY, and is happily married with children and a dog named Lola. When he was only four years old he was diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes, which was the biggest influence in his decision to become a physician. Before his surgical career, he spent a decade working as an assistant to the trainers and managers for several professional Ice Hockey team.
