“I have been a patient of SoNo bello since May 20, 2025 my first surgery. My second surgery was June 9, 2025. I had the pleasure of being‘s service with the Overland Park facility at Nall Rd. I have met some of the kindest physicians and staff they seem to always know my name, Pam Wrinkle and have the ability to always make sure my health care needs are met. At times I have additional needs or leave a message for care. I always receive a call back within minutes. I have referred some of my friends to check out SoNo bello in Overland Park due to the friendly staff. Emily the nurse I had through both of my surgeries very kind answered all my questions and was very pleasant and reassuring. Nathan my follow up nurse he’s a blessing. I can text him and he always responds. He has the ability to make you feel very comfortable and assure you that my health care is important to him also. She kept saying I’m a “consultant” and you’ll meet the doctor pre-op. So let me get this straight; I have to commit to a surgery by a non-medical non-licensed person just before I see a doctor right before surgery? The answer is yes. He did the laser Lipo on my upper abdomen, lower abdomen, waist, and hips. I saw results right away, but the final results will be a few months from now. I’m so excited! “Sono Bello Kansas City: Proceed with Caution

5/19/25 update: I was contacted by the office manager in response to my review and experience shortly after posting my review. She listened to all my concerns, was very polite and understanding, and informed me that revisions or attempts to resolve/fix any issues must wait until 6 months and set me up to go over my results and next steps with another surgeon therefore, in light of the new information I have added a star and will update my below review as we go.

Original 4/29/25 Review:

While I do recommend the AbEx procedure, if you’re going through the Kansas City location, I highly recommend using their one board-certified plastic surgeon — or going elsewhere — as the satisfaction guarantee is not honored as advertised, even after making several polite attempts to address and work towards a solution for my unfortunate results.

Pros:
• Some skin removal achieved
• Costs a couple thousand less than a traditional tummy tuck
• Facility fees, compression garments, and post-op supplies included
• Less pain and quicker return to work compared to traditional procedures
• Office staff was polite and professional

Cons:
• False expectations set and unmet by the surgeon
• Poor liposuction results — arms and knees look worse, are painful, and uneven
• Minimal surgeon interaction — only one brief meeting at the end of consult and once on surgery day
• Healing complications (infection, irritation, dissolvable sutures) brushed off as “normal”
• Dissatisfaction with poor results met with paid offers for Venus treatments or referrals to an outside plastic surgeon
• Inconsistent aftercare instructions — staff guidance conflicted with written materials and videos
• Risks and complications minimized during consult, while satisfaction guarantee was heavily promoted, yet not upheld and instead dismissed.

*5/19/25 note: Per the practice manager the suture irritation, inflammation, crusting, etc. is expected and a normal part of the process. She also informed me they CAN be pulled/cut back.

While I’m grateful to have had a portion of skin removed, my overall experience has been disappointing. Months later, I’m still dealing with physical issues and regret paying for results that could have been avoided. I am now left to pay more to attempt to fix what was done.

Heather was kind, informative and helpful during the pre-op appointment. Nurse Bailey was patient and kind & really went over and above to keep me comfortable before, during and after the procedure.

Dr. Wilder was professional, pleasant and he worked very hard during my procedure. He has a great bedside manner! He also played awesome music during the procedure which was a great diversion!

If you are going to have a procedure, make sure you read all of the paperwork regarding your after care. This way you will have time to get any of the things that you need that are not provided. They do give you several things, but you will also need bacitracin ointment. You may want to buy pineapple juice which they recommend to help with bruising and swelling. Plus, it contains little or no sodium. Sonobello sends you home with a compression garment (no additional cost) which is black. It allows you to use the restroom without taking it off. I had no trouble sleeping in it last night.

The final costs include everything except your prescription medications, the bacitracin, and pineapple juice if you like that. It’s been great for me. I bought a 24 pack of 8 ounce cans off Amazon and that’s been super convenient and tasty. So you can pick all that up when you pick up your prescriptions at the pharmacy. Do not use Neosporin in place of bacitracin because they said it will cause bellybutton redness which may be misconstrued as infection.

If you have the Ab/Ex procedure, they recommend you sleep upright, propped up on pillows. You could also sleep in a reclining chair. Target has a $20 bedrest pillow with arms, that works great. Just put a couple regular pillows in front of it for a more comfortable angle. The pillow is, “Faux Shearling Bed Rest Pillow by Room Essentials. “It’s $20 when purchased online. It might be the same price in store.

I would definitely recommend the Kansas City Sonobello in Overland Park, Kansas! Great people and a very clean and well run facility. Thank you very much to everybody at Sonobello!”

“Dr. Ellison was very nice and attentive! Answered all of my questions and concerns. My immediate post-op pictures looked great. My nurse Bailey was also nice and helpful both pre-op and post-op.very excited to see my final results.
Only thing I would change was my online consultant Julie Kaczmarek. I was less than impressed with her. She was hard to get ahold of. When I finally did get ahold of her to book my surgery, she overbooked me and I had to switch locations. I also asked her for before/after photos from my Doctor and she told me no, that photos were not shared. Which made zero sense to me as photos are shared on their instagram page and website. I reached out to the sono Bello page on instagram and they told me to reach out to the office and they would have pictures they could share. I did, which just resulted in the receptionist messaging my consultant Julie who then again emailed me stating, “ As a company they do share photos! As a consultant and team we do not. This is not a private practice and again, all of our surgeons have a lot of training and experience.” Completely zero help. Was quite upsetting that I did not get to research my surgeon and see his work beforehand.

“Got the chest EX and I knew I was going to need a revision two days after my surgery. They make you wait 6 months till they will even consider you for a revision. 6 months passed and I got approved for revision. Now since they don't any money on revisions they schedule you out an entire year to make a revision. But wait I could gotten my revision sooner if I pay more, of course! They want me to pay more to fix their mistake.

I couldn't recommend these people less, go somewhere else please. At least get the same surgery priced somewhere else.

I sent them an email and they said they would get back to me in two days. Two weeks later I have no response to a resolution. They don't care, clearly go somewhere else.

“EVERYONE WAS SO KIND ! I was extremely nervous going in today because truth be told I am self conscious and basically stated the areas I disliked about myself. It is one thing to think that way, but an entirely different feeling saying it out loud to a stranger. The entire team made me feel so comfortable in my own skin, while making me feel heard and seen. The rep confirmed that consultations and procedures are not done on the same day, so why would one be asked to stop a medication to schedule a consult? “Day 1, I find out that the abs and flanks are not two areas, but FOUR. They break it up in the upper apps, lower Abs, upper flank, and lower flank (waist and hips). The advertisement for $1349 per area, but that's false advertising as it goes on your BMI-and if you're near 30 you're going to be paying 2300. That's not including additional fees, like the Diamond Recovery kit and is required.
So I go in to meet the doctor and I'm in a bikini thing. He asked for permission to be grabby and I say OK. What I did not expect was for him to yank my underwear down and grab my fupa. He gave it a shake and said this is still going to be fat. Rude and NOT an area he had permission to assess. So I do the procedure anyway, shrugging it off. At my one week visit, the nurse is telling me that they're really good about doing revisions, which is why the charge more than other places. Her comment surprised me because I hadn't been planning on at that point. I thought she must be seeing things that I'm not seeing. As weeks go on, the fat revascularizes and puffs out, although I've lost weight. Again, at my one month she tells me that they are really good about doing revisions. By the way, they also stalk you on social media, like their SB Facebook page and will answer your questions without you asking them...
Well, now that the fluff fairy came, I'm up for revision and I see what the nurse means and how it looked better if we did a touch up. I would have considered adding on the bra roll at that point. So I go to the 6 month appointment and I'm at the proper weight and they tell me that they're not going to do it. They say that I'm good enough, and everything is over unless I wanted more procedures. So, I felt kind of manipulated, that they had just suckered me in with a revision to all those appointments so that they could get their pictures to put in their binders to convince more people to spend money. Mind you, I got a cheaper quote for a tummy tuck with lipo. I think people should consider getting on wegovy or doing that actual TT so they don't have loose skin. Overall, I'm irritated with how I feel manipulated and wish I'd gone with the TT or pills instead.”

My results are hideous and on top of all that I kept getting infections from the surgical site. The Dr I had Dr. Richardson left or got fired like within a month of my surgery.
